11 AI Writing Workflow Examples

Use these examples to study structure, specificity, tone, and variation. They are demonstrations—not claims about a real person or organization unless the example itself makes that explicit.

What to notice in the examples

The most useful workflows separate tasks instead of asking for a finished piece in one prompt. Writers get more control when they define the job, provide context, review outputs, verify claims, and revise selectively.

  • Use AI for a defined task, not as an undefined replacement for authorship.
  • Provide source material and constraints when accuracy depends on context.
  • Verify factual claims against appropriate sources.
  • Preserve version history so useful human choices are not lost during repeated rewrites.
  • Do not paste confidential or restricted material into tools without understanding data policies and permissions.
1

Brainstorm: Give me ten genuinely different ways to structure an article that teaches first-time managers how to write decision notes.

2

Outline critique: Here is my outline. Identify missing prerequisites, repeated sections, and places where the order assumes knowledge the reader does not yet have.

3

Example generation: Create five examples of the same principle for a teacher, nurse, developer, retail manager, and nonprofit coordinator.

4

Revision check: Mark sentences that make claims stronger than the evidence provided below. Do not rewrite yet.

5

Voice analysis: Describe the recurring sentence patterns, level of formality, and rhetorical habits in this sample without imitating distinctive phrases.

6

Counterargument: List the strongest reasonable objections to this recommendation and the evidence that would be needed to answer each one.

7

Compression: Reduce this 250-word explanation to 120 words while preserving the definition, one example, and the main limitation.

8

Fact audit: Extract every factual claim in this draft into a checklist so I can verify each claim against sources.

9

A reliable AI-assisted article workflow separates idea generation, source collection, drafting, verification, and human editing instead of asking one prompt to produce a publishable final answer.

10

For source-backed writing, AI can help cluster notes after sources are collected, but asking it to invent the evidence base creates a verification problem before drafting even begins.

11

Define the audience and claim set first, gather verified sources, use AI to test outlines or identify gaps, draft from the evidence, then run human fact, voice, and judgment checks before publication.

Turn an example into your own writing

Keep the underlying decision or pattern, then replace the subject, evidence, relationship, constraints, and tone with details that belong to your situation. If your final line still works after swapping only one noun, it may be too close to the example.
