Local angle: A historian from Pune publishes an archive-based study of a neighborhood market ahead of its centenary exhibition.
8 Press Release for a Book Examples
Use these examples to study structure, specificity, tone, and variation. They are demonstrations—not claims about a real person or organization unless the example itself makes that explicit.
What to notice in the examples
An effective book press release leads with the actual news, gives verifiable publication details and context, avoids inflated praise, provides a usable quotation and contact information, and makes the relevance to a specific audience or locality obvious.
- Headline and dateline centered on the news angle rather than generic publication.
- Lead covering who, what, when, where, and why the announcement matters.
- Supporting details: book, publisher, event, research, local connection, or timely context.
- Quote, concise author boilerplate, availability details, and media contact.
Event angle: A novel launches alongside a public discussion with translators and archivists at the library featured in the research.
Research angle: A nonfiction book synthesizes newly released public records; the release names the records rather than claiming unprecedented access vaguely.
Headline: “New Oral-History Book Documents 40 Years of Riverside Market Traders” is stronger than “Exciting New Book Now Available.”
Lead: “River Press will publish…” followed by date, author, title, and concrete relevance.
Quote: The author explains what changed in their understanding during research, adding perspective beyond metadata.
Availability: hardcover, ebook, audiobook dates and library/distributor information are stated accurately.
Media contact: one monitored address plus link to cover images, author photo, and media kit.
Keep the underlying decision or pattern, then replace the subject, evidence, relationship, constraints, and tone with details that belong to your situation. If your final line still works after swapping only one noun, it may be too close to the example.
