8 Press Release Headline Examples

Use these examples to study structure, specificity, tone, and variation. They are demonstrations—not claims about a real person or organization unless the example itself makes that explicit.

What to notice in the examples

A strong press release headline tells an editor what happened and why it may matter in one scan. It uses concrete nouns and verbs, avoids unsupported superlatives, and leaves secondary details for the subheadline and opening paragraph.

  • Lead with the actual news rather than company praise.
  • Name the organization, product, study, event, or decision when needed for clarity.
  • Use a specific action verb or measurable development.
  • Include a number or location only when it materially strengthens news value.
  • Keep claims supportable by the body of the release.

Turn an example into your own writing

Keep the underlying decision or pattern, then replace the subject, evidence, relationship, constraints, and tone with details that belong to your situation. If your final line still works after swapping only one noun, it may be too close to the example.
