What to notice in the examples

A strong wave description makes water movement legible across time: where a crest forms, how it changes, what happens when it meets shore, rock, boat, or another current, and how the repeated pattern differs from one exceptional wave.

  • Describe motion across more than one instant.
  • Separate wave appearance from tide/current claims unless researched.
  • Use scale anchors such as rocks, hulls, pilings, or shoreline marks.
  • Vary sound according to surface and shore rather than making every wave roar.
  • Track foam, spray, reflection, and retreat as consequences of motion.
