Claim Evidence Reasoning Template 1
Claim: [direct answer]. Evidence: [specific data/detail]. Reasoning: This evidence supports the claim because [principle/mechanism].
Start with structure, then replace every placeholder with information that is true, relevant, and natural for your context. These templates are intentionally skeletal so your final writing does not sound mass-produced.
A strong CER response uses a claim that answers the question, evidence that is sufficient and relevant, and reasoning that explicitly explains why the evidence supports the claim instead of assuming the connection is obvious.
Claim: [direct answer]. Evidence: [specific data/detail]. Reasoning: This evidence supports the claim because [principle/mechanism].
Multiple evidence: [Claim]. First, [evidence 1]. Second, [evidence 2]. Together, these support the claim because [reasoning].
