Fantasy Worldbuilding Template 1
Worldbuilding matrix: material condition → institution → everyday rule → beneficiary → conflict.
Start with structure, then replace every placeholder with information that is true, relevant, and natural for your context. These templates are intentionally skeletal so your final writing does not sound mass-produced.
Effective fantasy worldbuilding supports character choices and plot pressure, reveals rules through consequences, contains internal variation and history, and avoids adding lore that never matters to a scene, decision, or relationship.
Worldbuilding matrix: material condition → institution → everyday rule → beneficiary → conflict.
Scene filter: What must the character eat, pay, show, hide, carry, or obey because this world is different?
Lore test: If removing a fact changes no choice, conflict, image, or relationship, delay or cut it.
History chain: past event → current institution → present resentment → scene-level consequence.
