Second Person POV Template 1
Defined-you opening: You [specific action] because [character-specific reason].
Start with structure, then replace every placeholder with information that is true, relevant, and natural for your context. These templates are intentionally skeletal so your final writing does not sound mass-produced.
Effective second person establishes clearly who “you” is and why that address is artistically useful; it sustains viewpoint consistency without relying on commands alone or assuming every real reader shares the character’s experience.
Defined-you opening: You [specific action] because [character-specific reason].
Self-address: You tell yourself [claim], although [contradictory evidence].
Procedural frame: The instructions say [rule]. You [follow/break] it because [pressure].
Memory frame: You remember [detail] differently now that [new information].
