Synopsis Length Template 1
One-page compression: Setup [2–3 sentences] → inciting change → 3–4 major turns → climax → ending.
Start with structure, then replace every placeholder with information that is true, relevant, and natural for your context. These templates are intentionally skeletal so your final writing does not sound mass-produced.
A good synopsis meets the recipient’s stated length first; within that limit, it preserves the main character or subject, central conflict, major causal turns, climax, and ending without shrinking into vague marketing copy.
One-page compression: Setup [2–3 sentences] → inciting change → 3–4 major turns → climax → ending.
Two-page version: Central arc + one consequential subplot + major reversals + complete resolution.
Word-count trim: Remove [minor character names], combine [similar events], replace scene detail with [causal summary], keep [climax/ending].
Guideline-first note: Recipient requests [length/format]; final synopsis is [actual length] and includes the ending.
