Reference Letter Template 1
Opening: I am [role] at [organization], and I have known [candidate] for [time/context].
Start with structure, then replace every placeholder with information that is true, relevant, and natural for your context. These templates are intentionally skeletal so your final writing does not sound mass-produced.
A strong reference letter explains the writer's relationship to the candidate, gives evidence for the qualities claimed, matches those examples to the opportunity, and avoids praise the writer cannot personally support.
