Sympathy Message Builder

Create three editable starting points instead of copying a generic sentence. The tool runs locally in your browser; the text you type is not submitted to this site.

Build the draft

Choose what actually changes the wording. Leave any optional field blank rather than inventing a detail.

Private by design: this builder uses browser-side JavaScript and does not need an account.

Your drafts

Add only the details you know, then generate three versions. You can copy and edit any result.

Why the builder asks for so little

A useful condolence usually needs truth more than decoration

The relationship and channel set the level of formality. A real memory makes the wording yours. A specific offer can reduce practical burden. Everything else is optional. If you do not know a detail, leaving it out is better than manufacturing closeness.

Before you send it

Check the name, remove any assumption about faith or the cause of death, make sure the offer of help is realistic, and consider adding “no need to reply” when the recipient may be overwhelmed.
