Decision checkpoints

Answer the questions that can actually change the choice.

Each checkpoint reproduces the recorded product fields instead of assigning a winner. Read the condition, scope and missing-data state before treating a difference as useful to you.

01Can your account and device use this UPI service?Check the funding relationship and registration conditions for the named service.

Axis Bank UPI — open & Supported UPI Apps

Eligible funding source
Requires an eligible UPI-linked bank account for account-funded UPI. Axis material also supports eligible RuPay credit cards as a separate card-funded UPI relationship, and UPI Circle delegates payment authority without changing account ownership.
Registration
Link an eligible Axis account using the registered mobile/device flow in open or a participating UPI app. Axis migration material confirms active debit-card/account-holder requirements for migrated accounts; generic eligibility remains account/app dependent.

Bank of Baroda UPI — bob e-Pay

Eligible funding source
bob e-Pay can link eligible Savings, Current and OD accounts from banks live on UPI where account mode/mobile requirements are met. UPI Lite, UPI Circle and RuPay-credit-card UPI are separate funding/authority states.
Registration
Register with the same mobile number used by the linked bank account, complete app SMS/mobile verification, create VPA/login PIN, add the eligible account and set UPI PIN using the linked debit-card/issuer authentication flow.
02Does your payment fit both normal and temporary limits?Check ordinary limits alongside new-user, device or security cooling restrictions.

Axis Bank UPI — open & Supported UPI Apps

Standard limits
Current Axis UPI terms: up to ₹1,00,000 per transaction when funding from an Axis Bank account. Other-bank accounts may use different issuing-bank limits; the engine does not turn this per-transaction statement into an unsupported universal Axis daily ceiling.
Security cooling
Migration-specific evidence: newly re-registered migrated Citi accounts were limited to ₹5,000 in the first 24 hours on Android and ₹25,000 over the first 120 hours on iOS (₹5,000 per 24 hours). Because that source is migration-specific, generic Axis registrations follow live app/bank controls unless separately documented.

Bank of Baroda UPI — bob e-Pay

Standard limits
P2P/P2PM and ordinary P2M: ₹1 lakh per transaction and ₹1 lakh/day, 20 transactions/day/account. Specified-MCC P2M: ₹2 lakh per transaction/day. IPO and RBI Retail Direct collect: ₹5 lakh per transaction and ₹15 lakh/day. USSD (*99#): ₹5,000 per transaction/day.
Security cooling
Current table: after setting/resetting UPI PIN and fresh registration/re-verification of device, fund transfer is limited to ₹5,000. The security section describes ₹5,000 for the new user's first transaction; the live app remains controlling if additional risk restrictions apply.
03What are the payment costs and recovery conditions?Review costs and the failure or recovery route for the intended payment.

Axis Bank UPI — open & Supported UPI Apps

Payment / channel cost
No separate ordinary consumer UPI subscription fee is modeled from the reviewed Axis material; underlying account/card charges, telecom/data costs and any card-specific surcharge continue under their own terms.
Failure / recovery
UPI/card-funded disputes can be raised with Axis or the UPI app used for the transaction. Device changes can require re-registration, and the prior device can be deregistered for linked card-on-UPI access.

Bank of Baroda UPI — bob e-Pay

Payment / channel cost
The reviewed bob e-Pay material does not model a separate consumer subscription charge for ordinary account-funded UPI. SMS/data, underlying bank/card charges and any applicable card transaction charges remain separate.
Failure / recovery
bob e-Pay provides dispute management/history, real-time/settlement reversals and complaint paths. More than three wrong UPI PIN attempts can cause temporary blocking and repeat failures can require UPI PIN regeneration; device/SIM changes require re-registration.

UPI / security limitsAxis's current UPI terms state fund transfer using an Axis Bank account up to ₹1,00,000 per transaction. Other-bank accounts can have different remitter-bank limits, while daily/account-level, merchant-category and live risk controls may be lower or differently scoped.Current bob e-Pay table lists P2P/P2PM and ordinary P2M at ₹1 lakh per transaction/day with 20 transactions per day per account; specified-MCC P2M can reach ₹2 lakh per transaction/day, while IPO/Retail Direct collect requests have separate ₹5 lakh per-transaction and ₹15 lakh daily ceilings.

Product/account restrictions can exclude some constitutions.Customers of UPI-live banks with an eligible Savings/Current/OD account, active registered mobile/SMS and suitable mode of operation can register. bob e-Pay account linking and UPI PIN setup use the registered mobile and debit-card credentials unless an alternative current authentication method applies.
Payment / funding relationshipAccount-funded UPI, UPI Lite, UPI Circle delegation and RuPay-credit-card-on-UPI are distinct payment states. A delegated secondary user does not become an owner of the primary Axis account, and card-funded UPI does not inherit deposit-account limits automatically.bob e-Pay may act as the PSP app while the remitter account is another supported bank. UPI Circle delegates authority from the primary account without transferring ownership, and linked RuPay cards remain separate credit-funded merchant instruments.

Type-specific banking comparison terms for Axis Bank UPI — open & Supported UPI Apps and Bank of Baroda UPI — bob e-Pay
Decision factorAxis Bank UPI — open & Supported UPI AppsBank of Baroda UPI — bob e-Pay
App / channelAxis Bank account UPI through open and supported third-party UPI apps; Axis also documents Lite, AutoPay, Credit on UPI and UPI Circle capabilities across its payment stack.bob e-Pay, Bank of Baroda's UPI app, can link eligible accounts from UPI-live banks and supports QR, Send/Collect, account+IFSC, Global UPI, Tap & Pay, Lite, AutoPay, RuPay credit cards and UPI Circle.
RegistrationLink an eligible Axis account using the registered mobile/device flow in open or a participating UPI app. Axis migration material confirms active debit-card/account-holder requirements for migrated accounts; generic eligibility remains account/app dependent.Register with the same mobile number used by the linked bank account, complete app SMS/mobile verification, create VPA/login PIN, add the eligible account and set UPI PIN using the linked debit-card/issuer authentication flow.
AuthenticationOrdinary account-funded UPI uses the UPI PIN and device/account security controls. UPI Lite transactions on an enabled app do not require the UPI PIN; RuPay credit-card UPI uses its own 6-digit UPI PIN rather than the 4-digit card PIN.Two-factor/device-binding controls apply. bob e-Pay supports UPI PIN for ordinary transactions and current features include biometric/face-authentication paths for selected UPI PIN/transaction journeys; Lite has its own PIN-less small-value state.
Standard limitsCurrent Axis UPI terms: up to ₹1,00,000 per transaction when funding from an Axis Bank account. Other-bank accounts may use different issuing-bank limits; the engine does not turn this per-transaction statement into an unsupported universal Axis daily ceiling.P2P/P2PM and ordinary P2M: ₹1 lakh per transaction and ₹1 lakh/day, 20 transactions/day/account. Specified-MCC P2M: ₹2 lakh per transaction/day. IPO and RBI Retail Direct collect: ₹5 lakh per transaction and ₹15 lakh/day. USSD (*99#): ₹5,000 per transaction/day.
Security coolingMigration-specific evidence: newly re-registered migrated Citi accounts were limited to ₹5,000 in the first 24 hours on Android and ₹25,000 over the first 120 hours on iOS (₹5,000 per 24 hours). Because that source is migration-specific, generic Axis registrations follow live app/bank controls unless separately documented.Current table: after setting/resetting UPI PIN and fresh registration/re-verification of device, fund transfer is limited to ₹5,000. The security section describes ₹5,000 for the new user's first transaction; the live app remains controlling if additional risk restrictions apply.
UPI LiteAxis terms explicitly recognize UPI Lite without UPI PIN but contain legacy ₹500 wording plus 'or as prescribed by NPCI'. Current RBI/NPCI controls are used: ₹1,000 per Lite transaction and ₹5,000 maximum stored balance, subject to any lower live app restriction.bob e-Pay offers UPI Lite, but the bank page still displays legacy ₹500/₹2,000/₹4,000 numbers in its FAQ. Current RBI/NPCI limits are therefore used for current system context—₹1,000 per transaction and ₹5,000 stored balance—while the stale bank copy is surfaced as an evidence conflict rather than silently overwritten.
RuPay credit-card UPIAxis's current credit-card MITC requires the registered card mobile number and a separate 6-digit UPI PIN; only eligible RuPay P2M flows are allowed. P2P, P2PM, cash withdrawal, digital-account-opening, lending, eRUPI, IPO, foreign inward remittance and mutual-fund categories are excluded, and existing UPI plus card limits both apply.bob e-Pay can link eligible RuPay credit cards from participating issuers. Bank FAQ states credit-card UPI is only for P2M and carries no linking/transaction fee from bob e-Pay; available credit and issuer/UPI restrictions still apply.
AutoPay / mandatesAxis migration material confirms UPI AutoPay/recurring mandates. Mandates are stored separately from one-off transfers because authorization, recurrence, pause/revoke and merchant/use-case rules differ.UPI AutoPay is supported and mandates can be managed in-app. Recurring instructions remain a separate authorization lifecycle from one-off P2P/P2M limits.
Failure / recoveryUPI/card-funded disputes can be raised with Axis or the UPI app used for the transaction. Device changes can require re-registration, and the prior device can be deregistered for linked card-on-UPI access.bob e-Pay provides dispute management/history, real-time/settlement reversals and complaint paths. More than three wrong UPI PIN attempts can cause temporary blocking and repeat failures can require UPI PIN regeneration; device/SIM changes require re-registration.

Axis Bank

Axis Bank UPI — open & Supported UPI Apps

  • Axis's published Android/iOS first-use cooling figures in the reviewed migration FAQ apply specifically to customers re-registering migrated Citibank accounts; v1.37 does not universalize those figures to every organic Axis UPI registration.
  • Axis's UPI terms still mention an older ₹500 UPI Lite transaction figure but expressly defer to NPCI revisions; the engine therefore uses the current RBI/NPCI ₹1,000 per-transaction / ₹5,000 stored-balance framework rather than stale numeric copy.
  • RuPay credit-card-on-UPI is P2M-oriented and subject to both the card limit and existing UPI restrictions; P2P, P2PM, cash withdrawal and other prohibited categories are not converted into card-funded UPI use cases.
Bank of Baroda

Bank of Baroda UPI — bob e-Pay

  • After setting/resetting UPI PIN or fresh registration/re-verification of a device, bob e-Pay's current table caps fund transfer at ₹5,000; the bank also describes the new-user first transaction as ₹5,000.
  • Bank of Baroda's current page still contains stale UPI Lite FAQ numbers of ₹500 per payment / ₹2,000 balance / ₹4,000 daily even though the current RBI/NPCI framework is ₹1,000 per transaction / ₹5,000 stored balance. v1.37 flags the conflict instead of publishing stale launch-era limits as current.
  • bob e-Pay UPI Circle Full Delegation is capped at ₹15,000/month and ₹5,000/transaction and applies a 30-minute cooling period after linking; Partial Delegation still requires primary-user authorization via UPI PIN.
