ICICI BankICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

ICICI customers who need high-value digital transfers and want the segment/time-window rules kept separate from iMobile's ₹20 lakh daily transfer ceiling and Net Banking's default ₹10 lakh limit.

Cost / pricing
NEFT and RTGS initiated through ICICI digital channels are nil-charge. Reviewed branch NEFT is ₹2.25/₹4.75/₹14.75/₹24.75 + GST by slab; branch RTGS ₹20/₹45 + GST. Savings-account IMPS effective 1 July 2025 is ₹2.50 up to ₹1,000, ₹5 above ₹1,000 to ₹1 lakh, and ₹15 above ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh, plus GST.

Axis BankAxis Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Axis customers who want reliable rail mechanics and the bank's current ₹5 lakh IMPS transaction ceiling without turning product/scheme-specific or migrated-Citi limits into universal Axis rules.

Cost / pricing
Axis's current remittance form states that charges and taxes apply as applicable. Because retail account variants and premium programmes can waive or alter NEFT/RTGS/IMPS charges, v1.38 does not publish one universal Axis tariff from a product-specific schedule.

Decision checkpoints

Answer the questions that can actually change the choice.

Each checkpoint reproduces the recorded product fields instead of assigning a winner. Read the condition, scope and missing-data state before treating a difference as useful to you.

01Which transfer rail fits your payment?Read NEFT, RTGS and IMPS separately, with their bank and channel qualifications intact.

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

NEFT
Minimum ₹1. Maximum depends on segment/time: reviewed table shows ₹10 lakh or ₹1 crore from 1 AM–7 PM, and ₹10 lakh or ₹50 lakh during 7 PM–1 AM and holidays, based on customer segment.
RTGS
Minimum ₹2 lakh. The combined current limits table uses the same segment/time bands as NEFT; ICICI's dedicated RTGS page also displays a simpler ₹10 lakh/day figure, so the engine retains source scope rather than flattening them.
IMPS
Account+IFSC supports up to ₹5 lakh per transaction and ₹20 lakh/day in the reviewed table. Net Banking MMID transfers are separately capped at ₹10,000.

Axis Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

NEFT
RBI NEFT has no system floor/ceiling and operates 24x7 in half-hourly batches. Axis's current form permits cash NEFT up to ₹49,999 and requires photo ID for non-customer cash remittance; account/channel limits still apply for digital use.
RTGS
RBI minimum ₹2 lakh, 24x7 real-time settlement and no RBI maximum. Axis's current bank form does not publish one universal retail digital maximum, so product/account scheme limits remain controlling.
IMPS
Axis's May 2025-version remittance form states up to ₹5 lakh per IMPS transaction, subject to the per-day transfer limit for the account holder's Axis scheme code. Pending IMPS can transfer or revert within T+2 days.
02Is the beneficiary ready for the required amount?Check beneficiary activation and temporary cooling conditions before relying on a transfer ceiling.

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Beneficiary controls
New-payee first-24-hour amounts are category-specific: Global Private/NRI ₹10L, Wealth/Wealth Select ₹5L, Privilege ₹2L, General ₹1L.
Security cooling
ICICI publishes monetary restrictions for the first 24 hours after payee addition rather than one universal wait time. iMobile activation separately carries a ₹10,000 first-day transfer limit.

Axis Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Beneficiary controls
Generic bankwide current beneficiary waiting/first-day figures were not established by the reviewed primary remittance form. Migration-specific Citi-to-Axis material is retained as scoped evidence, not generalized.
Security cooling
No universal bankwide cooling amount is asserted from the current generic form. Where a customer's specific Axis app/account migration journey displays a temporary limit, that live scoped control overrides the generic profile.
03What charges and failure handling apply?Keep channel charges and the recorded reversal or recovery route attached to the transfer.

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Charges
Digital NEFT/RTGS are nil. Branch NEFT: ₹2.25/₹4.75/₹14.75/₹24.75 + GST by slab; branch RTGS: ₹20/₹45 + GST. Savings-account IMPS from 1 July 2025: ₹2.50 up to ₹1k, ₹5 above ₹1k–₹1L, ₹15 above ₹1L–₹5L + GST.
Failure / reversal
The transfer workflow distinguishes transaction status and bank support/escalation; exact reversal TAT depends on rail/failure state, so one generic reversal deadline is not invented from unrelated UPI rules.

Axis Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Charges
Charges/taxes are 'as applicable' on the current remittance form and can vary by account programme. The engine avoids taking a fee waiver from one premium/current-account tariff and presenting it as an Axis-wide retail price.
Failure / reversal
Current Axis form states a pending IMPS may be transferred or reverted within T+2 days. Returned NEFT and error/delay responsibility follows the bank/RBI transaction conditions.

Eligible account / channelRequires an eligible ICICI Bank account and available transfer limit; account/segment status can materially change NEFT/RTGS ceilings and first-day payee limits.Requires sufficient funds and an eligible Axis account/channel. The current form explicitly makes IMPS daily capacity subject to the account holder's scheme-code transfer limit.
NEFT / RTGS / IMPS coverageiMobile and Retail Net Banking support IMPS, NEFT and RTGS, with the bank exposing transfer-limit management and customer-segment-based high-value limits.Axis supports NEFT, RTGS and IMPS through its banking channels; the current branch/remittance form also supports cash NEFT up to ₹49,999 for eligible remitters.
Rail / channel limitsiMobile's general daily fund-transfer limit is ₹20 lakh; Retail Net Banking default is ₹10 lakh and can be viewed/modified. IMPS Account+IFSC supports up to ₹5 lakh per transaction and ₹20 lakh/day. NEFT/RTGS maxima vary by customer segment and time window, reaching ₹1 crore for some segments during the reviewed daytime window. The current Axis form states IMPS up to ₹5 lakh per transaction, subject to the account's per-day scheme-code transfer limit. RTGS keeps the RBI ₹2 lakh minimum and no RBI maximum; NEFT has no RBI floor/ceiling, but Axis account/channel limits still apply.
Transfer access / eligibilityEligible ICICI Bank account holders using iMobile/Net Banking, subject to segment, account and transaction-right rules.Axis account holders and eligible remitters using supported branch/digital routes, subject to account scheme, KYC and transaction rights. Non-customer cash NEFT has separate ID requirements.
Rail / beneficiary relationshipICICI's high NEFT/RTGS limits are segment- and time-sensitive and should not be reused as IMPS limits. New-payee caps are also category-specific rather than one universal cooling figure.Axis's per-day limit can be account-scheme-specific. The engine therefore refuses to reuse a premium-account unlimited/free allowance or a migrated-Citi cooling rule as a bankwide retail default.

Wrong-fit risks

Keep each product’s cautions beside the product.

A useful comparison shows what can make either option unsuitable instead of averaging those conditions into a score.

ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

  • During the first 24 hours after adding a payee, ICICI currently publishes limits of ₹10 lakh for Global Private/NRI, ₹5 lakh for Wealth/Wealth Select, ₹2 lakh for Privilege and ₹1 lakh for General Banking customers.
  • After iMobile activation, the first-day transfer limit is ₹10,000, a separate temporary app-security state from the new-payee category limits.
  • ICICI's standalone RTGS page can present a simpler ₹10 lakh/day headline while the combined limits table publishes higher segment-based maxima; v1.38 preserves the scope instead of selecting the largest number as universal.
Axis Bank

Axis Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

  • Axis's current NEFT/RTGS/IMPS form confirms ₹5 lakh per IMPS transaction but explicitly defers the daily ceiling to the account's scheme code.
  • Cash NEFT is allowed only up to ₹49,999 on the reviewed form and non-customers must provide photo ID.
  • Axis has first-party migration documentation describing temporary new-payee limits for migrated Citi relationships; v1.38 labels that evidence as migration-scoped and does not generalize it to all Axis retail customers.
