How to compare

Check the terms that can change the decision.

Category membership alone does not make products interchangeable. Recheck the bank's current controlling agreement, tariff or effective-rate table before acting.

01

Channel first

Confirm whether the journey is web, mobile-app-only or merely an online lead form. A branch fallback is not the same as end-to-end digital opening.

02

Full KYC versus limited KYC

Aadhaar OTP/minimum-KYC can create a restricted account while Video KYC/V-CIP can create a full account. Compare validity, balance and transaction caps before calling either one “instant”.

03

Funding is not minimum balance

A zero-AMB account can still request ₹10,000/₹20,000 or another opening deposit. Keep initial funding, debit-card cost and ongoing balance as three separate fields.

04

New-to-bank restrictions

Some instant journeys are only for customers without an existing or previous relationship. A digital product can therefore be unavailable even when the applicant otherwise meets KYC rules.

05

India and device requirements

Video KYC commonly needs Aadhaar-linked OTP, camera/microphone, live location and physical presence in India. Those are eligibility controls, not user-interface trivia.

06

Fallback matters

If Aadhaar, video quality or live verification fails, check whether the bank offers a limited-KYC state, retry, non-Aadhaar OVD route or branch completion—and what remains restricted until then.

Onboarding matrix

Digital opening is not one standardized process.

Compare the verified channel and restrictions before choosing on headline balance alone.
