IndusInd Bank UPI — INDIE

IndusInd Bank INDIE UPI profile with a bank-specific ₹1 lakh non-merchant / ₹2 lakh specific-merchant structure, explicit 24-hour ₹5,000 UPI cooling and in-app dispute/history controls.

First-party evidencePublished researchReviewed September 10, 2026Active
Eligible funding sourceRequires a UPI-enabled linked bank account. INDIE also allows other banks’ UPI-supporting accounts to be linked to an INDIE UPI ID, so the app relationship and remitter-bank relationship can differ.
UPI / security limitsCurrent INDIE material states up to ₹1 lakh cumulatively via up to 10 daily transactions to non-merchant accounts and up to ₹2 lakh cumulatively to specific merchants. For the first 24 hours after UPI registration, both merchant and non-merchant transfers are capped at ₹5,000 cumulatively via up to five transactions.
Payment / channel costThe current INDIE FAQ states there are no charges on UPI transactions. Underlying account/card tariffs and other non-UPI payment charges remain separate.
Payment / funding relationshipINDIE is the app/PSP layer; an account from IndusInd or another participating bank can be the funding account. General INDIE fund-transfer limits outside UPI are not reused as UPI limits.

Critical decision facts

Channel scope and security state determine what the published limit really means.

Rail, channel, beneficiary, cooling, authentication and recovery rules stay separate instead of being compressed into one generic digital-banking number.

01 · Eligible funding sourceRequires a UPI-enabled linked bank account. INDIE also allows other banks’ UPI-supporting accounts to be linked to an INDIE UPI ID, so the app relationship and remitter-bank relationship can differ.

Exact product-type evidence

UPI payment service evidence stays in its own structure.

Specialist fields below remain source-scoped. Missing values stay missing; one banking product type is never used to manufacture facts for another.

UPI control map

Separate the funding source, steady-state limit and temporary security state.

UPI is not represented by one universal ₹1 lakh number. Bank/app risk controls, device cooling, Lite, card-funded merchant UPI and mandate rules are kept in their own fields. Reviewed September 10, 2026.

UPI app / channelINDIE mobile banking UPI with Manage UPI, UPI ID/UPI Number, linked-account management, history and disputes.
Registration / linkingRegister UPI in INDIE and link a supported account; other banks’ UPI-enabled accounts can also be attached to the INDIE UPI handle.
AuthenticationUPI transactions use the UPI security/PIN flow. General INDIE app authentication and non-UPI transfer controls are not treated as substitutes for the UPI PIN rules.
Steady-state limitsUp to ₹1 lakh cumulatively via up to 10 transactions to non-merchant accounts daily; up to ₹2 lakh cumulatively to specific merchants daily under the current INDIE FAQ.
New-user / device coolingFirst 24 hours after UPI registration: up to ₹5,000 cumulatively via up to five transactions across both non-merchant and merchant payments.
UPI LiteCurrent system-level UPI Lite limits are tracked separately at ₹1,000 per eligible payment and ₹5,000 maximum stored balance. A bank-specific INDIE Lite implementation is not asserted here unless the current bank channel explicitly documents it.
RuPay credit card on UPIRuPay credit-card-on-UPI is a separate eligible card-funded merchant flow under NPCI/issuer controls; this INDIE account-UPI profile does not infer that every linked bank/card is eligible.
AutoPay / mandatesUPI AutoPay remains a separate recurring-payment authorization layer. INDIE also has biller AutoPay functions, which are not assumed to be identical to UPI AutoPay unless the payment rail is identified.
Merchant / QR controlsSpecific merchant payments can have a ₹2 lakh cumulative daily limit under the current INDIE FAQ; ordinary non-merchant transfers retain the separate ₹1 lakh/10-transaction rule.
Failure / dispute / recoveryUPI history and disputes are available in INDIE. Re-registration/security changes can alter temporary app limits, so UPI cooling and general fund-transfer cooling are stored separately.

Fit & cautions

Who this record appears designed for—and what can break the fit.

Best-fit wording summarizes the published proposition. It is not individualized financial advice or an approval prediction.

Potential fit

IndusInd customers using INDIE who want the bank’s exact distinction between non-merchant, specific-merchant and first-24-hour UPI limits rather than a generic ₹1 lakh headline.

Verify before relying
  • The ₹2 lakh daily figure applies to specific merchant payments, not ordinary person-to-person/non-merchant transfers.
  • The first 24-hour UPI cooling cap is ₹5,000 cumulative and five transactions even though broader INDIE non-UPI fund-transfer controls may show a different temporary device-registration limit.
  • Do not mix INDIE’s general fund-transfer ₹10 lakh app limit with UPI; the bank publishes UPI as a separate lower control set.
Maintained comparisons

Compare this product only where the pair is deliberately maintained.

Both sides keep independent review dates, exact conditions and first-party evidence. No winner score is generated.

First-party source ledger

Complete evidence set for this maintained profile.

Each source remains independent. A product page, tariff, KFS/MITC, rate schedule or programme document is not silently treated as interchangeable evidence.

Current-use rule

When the bank changes a term after the recorded review, the current agreement, tariff, KFS/MITC or effective rate table controls.
