Critical decision facts

Channel scope and security state determine what the published limit really means.

Rail, channel, beneficiary, cooling, authentication and recovery rules stay separate instead of being compressed into one generic digital-banking number.

Exact product-type evidence

UPI payment service evidence stays in its own structure.

Specialist fields below remain source-scoped. Missing values stay missing; one banking product type is never used to manufacture facts for another.

UPI control map

Separate the funding source, steady-state limit and temporary security state.

UPI is not represented by one universal ₹1 lakh number. Bank/app risk controls, device cooling, Lite, card-funded merchant UPI and mandate rules are kept in their own fields. Reviewed September 10, 2026.

UPI app / channelUPI through AU 0101 with QR/transfers plus UPI Lite, UPI Circle and mandate capabilities advertised by the bank.
Registration / linkingDownload AU 0101, verify the bank-registered mobile by SMS, select the eligible bank account, verify debit-card details, choose a UPI ID and set the mPIN/UPI credential.
AuthenticationOrdinary UPI uses the UPI PIN/mPIN payment flow after registered-mobile/account verification. Lite/delegated states use their separately defined controls.
Steady-state limitsAfter cooling, up to ₹1 lakh in a single outgoing UPI transaction and ₹1 lakh/day, with maximum 20 P2P transactions in 24 hours under the current AU UPI page. AU separately publishes incoming P2P limits up to ₹4 lakh/24 hours subject to count/value rules.
New-user / device coolingAndroid: first 24 hours after UPI registration limited to ₹5,000 or 20 transactions, whichever first. iOS: first 72 hours limited to ₹5,000 or 20 transactions per 24 hours, whichever first.
UPI LiteAU lists UPI Lite as a current feature. The engine uses current RBI/NPCI system limits of ₹1,000 per eligible transaction and ₹5,000 maximum stored balance unless AU publishes a stricter live app limit.
RuPay credit card on UPIEligible RuPay-credit-card UPI is kept separate from AU account-funded UPI and follows NPCI merchant-only/issuer-risk/card/customer limit controls rather than automatically inheriting the AU deposit-account daily cap.
AutoPay / mandatesAU lists UPI Mandate and UPI Circle. Mandates are recurring/authorized payment instructions; UPI Circle is delegated access and is not treated as account ownership by the secondary user.
UPI Circle / delegated paymentsAU explicitly lists UPI Circle as a current AU 0101 feature. The engine applies the current NPCI full-delegation guardrails of up to ₹15,000 per month and ₹5,000 per transaction, while partial delegation requires primary-user authorization; any stricter AU/live-app setting remains controlling.
Merchant / QR controlsQR/merchant payments are supported; bank/app and merchant-category limits can differ from P2P and incoming-credit rules.
Failure / dispute / recoveryRegistered-mobile/device and account verification govern access; current bank support/live app controls should be used after device changes, failed registration or disputed transactions.

Fit & cautions

Who this record appears designed for—and what can break the fit.

Best-fit wording summarizes the published proposition. It is not individualized financial advice or an approval prediction.

Potential fit

AU customers who want a current bank-level UPI profile that distinguishes outgoing debit limits, incoming credit controls and device-platform cooling periods.

Verify before relying
  • Android and iOS have different first-registration cooling periods: 24 hours versus 72 hours under AU’s current page.
  • AU separately publishes incoming UPI P2P controls—up to ₹4 lakh received in 24 hours with transaction-count conditions—so incoming credit limits should not be mistaken for the ₹1 lakh outgoing debit limit.
  • The ₹50,000 first-three-hours new-payee restriction on AU’s general digital-transfer page is a beneficiary control for bank transfers; the UPI page’s own first-registration cooling rules are used for UPI.
Maintained comparisons

Both sides keep independent review dates, exact conditions and first-party evidence. No winner score is generated.
